Alternates

Alternates allow you to present optional or substitute items within an estimate. They help clients compare different material options, design choices, or cost scenarios without affecting the main estimate. This gives more flexibility during bidding and decision-making.

Alternate:

This is used to compare two estimate sheets and get a preview of the changes made in each estimate.

Steps to create alternate:

· Select the more options icon

· Click alternate

· Enter the name and click create.

Comparing the estimates:

Let us look at how to compare the default and alternate estimate.

· After the alternate is created the options for editing the materials will be displayed

· We can add or exclude the material, Replace with another material

· In this way we can compare the difference between both.

· Then select the save button to save the new materials.

· Move to the estimate sheet and select the quotes to compare

· Click compare.

Replacing the whole Assembly in alternates: The Replace Assembly in Alternates feature allows you to swap an entire assembly with an alternate option. This is useful when comparing different material or construction methods to optimize cost or performance. You can quickly replace the entire assembly with an alternate while keeping the rest of the estimate intact.
